It’s Fall time y’all. Which means the ideal season for sippin’ Bourbon around the ole campfire. And you can’t have a ‘geet together’ around the logs without busting out the S’mores?! With that, we bring you Mash & Mallow.
Mash & Mallow is a brand new craft whiskey brand with flavors of rich chocolate, toasted marshmallow and graham cracker for an authentic s’mores-influenced experience. Inspired by the great outdoors and reminiscent of long nights beside the fire, the premium whiskey presents a smooth, smoky finish perfect for crisp fall nights ahead.
It never hurts when a brand has founder and Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame Whiskey Maker, Kaveh Zamanian, in partnership with Pernod Ricard, behind it.
Per the brand, Mash & Mallow exudes a smoky aroma with a subtle melding of flavors such as graham cracker, chocolate, roasted marshmallow and sweet confectionary sugar. On the palate, consumers can expect a liquid that retains a strong whiskey character and a wood-oak finish that is sweet with a subtle smokiness. Roasted and toasted to perfection, the whiskey’s mash bill features 97% corn whiskey and 3% rye whiskey, alongside added flavors.
“Today’s whiskey drinkers continue to embrace non-traditional and classic culinary recipes in spirits. Mash & Mallow is a bold, simple and irreverent whiskey with the nostalgic smack of s’mores toasted by the fire,” said Zamanian. “I wanted to create a smooth whiskey that is so good you’ll take it with you anytime adventure calls – from your local bar to an adventure in the great outdoors. I am excited to finally share Mash & Mallow and hope to continue inspiring a new generation of thrill-seekers through unexplored flavors.”
This is the second launch in a series of collaborations between Zamanian and Pernod Ricard. In August, Mary Dowling Whiskey Company announced the debut of its premiere whiskey lineup, featuring two distinctive expressions: Tequila Barrel and Double Oak Barrel.
The brand’s commercial support in the U.S. is led by Castle Brands. Mash & Mallow is available for purchase at select retailers in CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, SC, TX, WA and WI. As of today, the brand has announced that for the first time ever, it is offering the annual highly anticipated limited edition Rye Release as CASK STRENGTH. This is historical as the AE Rye goes back to 2013, a 100 proof flavor banger finished for 18 months in rum barrels which originally housed Cognac. To say the 2013 AE Rye was rich and decadent is an understatement. It was a brown sugar molasses bomb.
Speaking of historical, both the 2023 AE Rye Cask Strength and 2023 Cask Strength Bourbon are the first releases under the new AE Master Distiller, Owen Martin. Martin was the Head Distiller at Colorado based Stranahan’s Distillery before officially joining AE in October 2022.
The upcoming 2023 AE Rye Cask Strength clocks in at 114.4 proof (57.2% abv). Martin put a special touch on this release by blending barrels selected first-hand from two rye whiskeys – one finished in Sauternes Casks and the other finished in Toasted Oak Barrels. This limited-edition Cask Strength Rye falls under ANGEL’S ENVY’S highly acclaimed Cask Strength program and comes in a newly designed, elevated glass bottle. Only 5,500 bottles will be hitting shelves.

TASTING NOTES AE RYE CASK STRENGTH (Brand Provided): Features creamy notes of pears, cream, and rye spice on the palate, which lead into a finish of cream soda, black tea, and a floral sweetness.
Release Date & Pricing (Rye & Bourbon Cask Strength)
Both the AE Rye Cask Strength and AE Bourbon Cask Strength will debut Dec 1st and will be available at the AE Homeplace (starting at 9am EST) in Louisville and at select retailers nationwide. SRP is $269.99 and $229.99 respectively.
Switching liquid goodness gears now to the upcoming AE Cask Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon finished in Port Wine Barrels. This gorgeous sipper comes in at 118.2 proof. 22,656 bottles will be available at select retailers in all 50 U.S. states, including the ANGEL’S ENVY distillery in downtown Louisville. It will be encased in a slick newly designed elevated bottle.
