Scotland’s Nc’Nean Distillery is one of a handful of whisky distilleries certified as “B Corp” for their sustainability efforts. At Nc’Nean, that goes all the way to the use of renewable energy for the distillery and using recycled glass for its bottles. We’ll talk with founder Annabel Thomas about the challenges of making whisky sustainably and organically on this week’s WhiskyCast In-Depth. Highland Scotch distillery Nc’nean has released Annabel – named after distillery founder, Annabel Thomas – from a new whisky series they are naming Quiet Rebels.
Nc’nean Quiet Rebels Annabel was aged in both ex-Tokaji barrels and ex-bourbon barrels, bottled at 48.5% alcohol by volume [97 proof] and is said to contain notes of coconut, tropical fruit and vanilla.
Only 4,504 Nc’nean Quiet Rebels Annabel is being made available via Nc’nean’s official website [ncnean.com] as well as in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands for $90 per bottle.
