Scotland-based luxury hotel+spa Gleneagles has released a quartet of single malt whiskies as a series called Pursuits, inspired by four countryside activities – falconry, fishing, horse riding and shooting – offered at the estate [never mind golf, which will have Gleneagles as the host the International Pro-Am golf tournament later this year].

Each of the four single malt whiskies in Gleneagles Pursuits has been sourced from four whisky distilleries in Scotland, is limited to one cask per whisky and will contribute to the hotel’s centenary celebration later this year.

The Gleneagles Fishing is from Highland distillery Royal Brackla, was matured in a single hogshead cask for 11 years and is said to offer notes of almond, citrus, hazelnut and white pepper.

The Gleneagles Falconry is from Caol Ila Distillery, was matured in a single hogshead for 14 years and is said to offer notes of black pepper, dark chocolate, smoked Gruyère and lime.

The Gleneagles Shooting is from Speyside distillery Imperial [which is no longer in operation], was matured in a single barrel for 26 years and is said to offer notes of citrus, eucalyptus, ginger and vanilla. Only 191 numbered bottles of Gleneagles Shooting are being made available.

The Gleneagles Horse Riding is from the Tobermory Distillery, was matured in a single hogshead for 27 years and is said to offer notes of almond, salted butter and honey.

The Gleneagles Pursuits series were all bottled in December 2022 with the full Gleneagles Pursuits series of four whiskies being made available for $1,490.
