Asahi-owned Japanese whisky producer Nikka has released the final grain whisky in their Discovery series – Nikka Discovery 2023 – a blend of grain whiskies from four of Asahi’s distilleries: Miyagikyo, Nishinomiya, Moji, and Satsumatsukasa.
Nikka Discovery 2023 The Grain Whisky uses old Coffey grain and Coffey malt as well as experimental grain made from corn and rye and is the first usage of grain distillates from the shochu distilleries at Moji and Satsumatsukasa and was bottled at 48% alcohol by volume (96 proof).
Only 20,000 bottles of Nikka Discovery 2023 The Grain Whisky are being made available worldwide for $175 per bottle.
