Betty Booze – the brainchild of actress Blake Lively [“Gossip Girl”] – has expanded from their tonic-and-mixer beginnings in 2021 to their ready-to-drink [RTD] cocktail range which has collaborated with Wrexham Association Football Club (AFC) players, the Welsh club team co-owned by Lively’s husband, actor Ryan Reynolds [“Deadpool”] whose documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham” has become a worldwide hit for Hulu and Disney.

The advertising promotional video features Wrexham AFC football players midfielder James Jones, goalkeeper Rob Lainton and midfielder Luke Young competing against one another to sell individual cases of Betty Booze’s three cocktail RTD variants: Sparkling Bourbon with Apple Ginger Sour Cherry, Sparkling Tequila with Lemonade and Sparkling Tequila with Lime Shiso – which were launched in June 2023.

Lainton’s bourbon-based narrowly edges out the twin tequila-based cans of the other two players in the contest whose outcome was determined at a supermarket.

Wrexham is currently at the tail end of their world tour before beginning their League Two schedule in the UK and plays the MLS’ Philadelphia Union’s second team tonight in Philadelphia.

Betty Booze cocktail RTD’s are bottled at 4.5% alcohol by volume [nine proof] and are made with sparkling water and real juices in addition to the spirits – containing no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.

The Betty Booze Sparkling Bourbon with Apple Ginger Sour Cherry is – not surprisingly – said to offer notes of apple, ginger and sour cherry but also caramel, marzipan, and rye spice in the bourbon elements.
