Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has collaborated with London’s Bar Pepito – a sherry-dedicated bar – and released a new 12-year-old whisky, Glen Scotia Seasonal Release 2022, matured in Amontillado sherry casks.

Glen Scotia Seasonal Release 2022 is a single malt that was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels then finished for 12 months in Amontillado Sherry casks from the Montilla region of southern Spain, bottled at 53.3% alcohol by volume [106.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of vanilla.

Additionally, Glen Scotia and Bar Pepito’s chef, Nacho del Campo, have recommended dishes to complement the new single malt – whisky-marinated gordal olives with orange and cumin, a cheese selection, dark chocolate slices, and fillet steak of Ibérico pork (grilled) with baba ghanoush – which are said to represent “the Spanish way of life” in the region where these sherry casks originated.

The Glen Scotia Seasonal Release 2022 is being made available via the Glen Scotia official website for $90 per bottle.
