The Glasgow Distillery has released Glasgow 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish single malt to their Small Batch Series.
Glasgow 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish uses both peated whisky matured in virgin American white oak casks and finished in Bordeaux red wine casks along with triple-distilled whisky, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in ruby Port casks – both cask types were bottled in late 2022 at 57.5% alcohol by volume [115 proof] and is said to offer notes of pink peppercorns, red berries, toasted almonds and tobacco.
Only 1,925 bottles of Glasgow 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish are being made available in the UK for $70 per bottle and will later be made available in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland and Taiwan.
