The Glasgow Distillery has released a pair of single malt whiskies as part of their Small Batch Series – each single malt was finished in Tokaji and Innis & Gunn beer casks – The Glasgow 1770 Innis & Gunn Golden Beer Cask Finish and Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish.

The Glasgow 1770 Innis & Gunn Golden Beer Cask Finish had its whisky initially matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask before being finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead that was previously used to mature Innis & Gunn’s Original Beer for three months, bottled at 58.5% alcohol by volume [117 proof] and is said to offer notes of dark fruits, toffee and vanilla. Only 356 bottles of The Glasgow 1770 Innis & Gunn Golden Beer Cask Finish are being made available for $70 per 700ml bottle.

The Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish was matured for two and a half years in a bourbon cask before being moved to a Hungarian Tokaji cask for more than 18 months, bottled at 58.1% alcohol by volume [116.2 proof] and is said to offer notes of apricot and vanilla. Only a mere 210 bottles of The Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish are being made available – also for $70 per 700ml bottle.
