Welcome to Inbox, our weekly round up of whisky news and PR material that has found its way in to our WFE email. It was created as we cannot write full articles or do justice to every piece received. It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday. Within Inbox we aim to write a few lines detailing each press release/piece of news/PR event that we have received and provide links, where possible, for you to find out further information.

This is the final Inbox of 2021 and we would like to thank you all for reading each week over the last year. It remains one of our most popular posts and will return in January. Watch this space! Here is the round-up of this week's news ...

Stewart MBE - the Balvenie Malt Master, and now joins Tun 1401 as a completed set. The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 8 is made from 18 rare casks with each hand-selected by Stewart. These range in origin, wood type and age. they are then skillfully married in a tun - a huge oak vessel - that is housed within Warehouse 24 at the distillery for a period of time.

The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 8 is bottled at the natural cask strength of 52.2% ABV and is non chill-filtered. The exact number of bottles was not revealed in the press release but each will cost £330. It will be available in the UK from selected specialist and luxury retailers.

The Speyside distillery of Glen Moray have announced a special limited edition to celebrate their two years of sponsorship of the Edinburgh rugby team. The Glen Moray Homecoming Edition is a 15 years old single malt and is released to mark the completion of Edinburgh's new permanent home - the Dam Health Stadium. The new whisky has been fully matured in ex-sherry casks at the distillery in Elgin.
