Midleton, County Cork-based Irish whiskey makers Method and Madness have released a new Irish whiskey finished in Quercus Garryana white oak casks.

Method and Madness Garryana Oak Edition Irish whiskey has been triple distilled from a mashbill of malted and unmalted barley [originally matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks] and finished between four and 12 months in casks made from virgin Quercus Garryana, a species of white oak native to the Pacific Northwest.

This unique wood is said to give Method and Madness Garryana Oak Edition notes of black pepper, clove, coffee cake and golden raisins.

Method and Madness Garryana Oak Edition has already been made available for $103 per bottle in Ireland and the UK and is expected to have a launch date in the USA later in 2023.
