World Whisky Select has launched a new storefront in Hong geared at promoting new and emerging whiskies from around the world. The display center features select spirits from over 300 distilleries worldwide.
Springboarding from an impressive debut in Seoul, South Korea, World Whisky Select has moved on to Hong Kong. The business model will expand its Asian presence as it prepares to include new brands and select distilleries.
During its special World Select Event in South Korea, where it debuted as a selection service, it made over $120,000 in revenue and welcomed more than 50,000 visitors. The project won the “Drink Event of the Year” award at the Drinks Business Asian Awards 2023.
The project is spearheaded by Metabev, an international importer and distributor of spirits. It has offices across Asia and looks to mimic the Seoul success which was held at the Hyundai Department Store in Seoul. The project lasted two weeks and made over KRW 200 million in revenue.
In addition, Metabev used the Seoul; event as an initiator of a global strategy with world whisky as the central fabric of its portfolio. This is reflected in its selection including
- Kentucky Wild Turkey
- GlenAllachie from Scotland,
- Milk & Honey from Israel,
- Stauning from Denmark,
- Starward from Australia,
- Bushmills from Ireland,
- Scapegrace from New Zealand and
- Alfred Giraud from France. Among other brands
The company aims to integrate more brands, more distilleries, and more countries. The World Whisky Select concept is a showcase of global spirits in Asian cities. This brings a unique outlook and independent market for whiskies.
The Hong Kong event of World Whisky Select is now open at the Stickton bar and VIP guests are able to sample its wide selection in a number of limited-time-only cocktails. The company will continue to establish itself as a global distributor of select whisky.
