Scotland-based Ian Macleod Distillers has released a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky called the White Cask First-Fill Edition, which will be exclusive to travel retail venues.

The White Cask, which originates from an undisclosed distillery, gets its name from from being matured in North American white oak casks [typically used for bourbon], was bottled at 41.1% alcohol by volume [82.2 proof] and is said to contain notes of apple, citrus, honey and vanilla.

The White Cask, The First-Fill Edition will be available in travel retail venues beginning in February 2023 for $45 per bottle.

Islay distillery Ardbeg has released Fermutation – a 13-year-old whisky fermented for three weeks due to an unplanned boiler malfunction – making it the longest fermentation in Ardbeg’s history [most Ardbeg whisky is fermented for only 72 hours].

The limited edition bottling will launch on 1 February, and has been fermented for three weeks due to an ‘unplanned experiment’.

Ardbeg Fermutation is said to contain floral notes along with malt, peat and smoke.

Ardbeg Fermutation is being made available beginning in February 2022 to members of the distillery’s The Ardbeg Committee club $205 per bottle.
