Highland distillery Tomatin has released The Portuguese Collection – a limited edition series finished in wine casks from Portugal.
Tomatin’s The Portuguese Collection consists of The Port Edition, The Moscatel Edition and The Madeira Edition – all of which were bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and all of which were matured in oak casks for more than eight years, whereupon the whiskies were transferred into Tawny Port, Moscatel de Setúbal and Madeira wine casks for a further seven years.
Tomatin The Port Edition is said to contain notes of apricot, peach and spices, while Tomatin The Moscatel Edition is said to contain notes of citrus, ginger and honey and Tomatin The Madeira Edition is said to contain notes of butterscotch, honey and lemon.
Tomatin’s The Portuguese Collection is being made available from Tomatin’s website and worldwide for $100 per 700ml bottle.
