Islay Scotch whisky producer Bowmore is launching a new limited edition series called No Corners To Hide – in which they collaborate with DC/Marvel graphic artist Frank Quitely – the first pair of whiskies will be a 23-year-old and a 32-year-old.

Bowmore No Corners to Hide features an ancient Islay myth centering around a church with no corners – rounded walls were believed to keep the devil out – built by the people on the island in 1767. But the devil paid no heed to that silliness and was revealed to be in the walls of the church anyway, forcing the people of Islay to chase the devil out of the church and into the nearby Bowmore distillery, where it is then presumed the devil hid inside a whisky cask.

Bowmore No Corners To Hide 23-year-old was matured for 21 years in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads, then for two additional years in Essencia barriques, bottled at 51.5% alcohol by volume [103 proof] and is said to contain devilish notes of acacia honey, marzipan and spice.

Bowmore No Corners To Hide 23-year-old is being made available for $400 per bottle.

Similarly, Bowmore No Corners To Hide 32-year-old was matured for 30 years in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads, then two additional years in Essencia barriques and is said to contain devilish notes of orange peel, licorice and smoke.

Bowmore No Corners To Hide 32-year-old is being made available for $2,995 per bottle.

Both Bowmore No Corners To Hide whiskies are being made available in global travel retail outlets in Amsterdam, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Singapore, Taiwan and Vienna.
