Highland distillery Glenmorangie has released A Tale of the Forest – their first whisky made from barley kilned with woodland botanicals – which included birch bark, heather flowers and juniper berries.
Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest was aged in bourbon barrels, including many refill casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of – not surprisingly – eucalyptus, juniper, mint, moss, orange, pine needles and smoke.
Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is being made available for $85 per bottle beginning in October 2022.
