White Peak Distillery has released Wire Works – the second entry in their Small Batch series.

White Peak Wire Works Small Batch single malt whisky was matured in both ex-bourbon and the distillery’s STR (shaved, toasted and recharred) casks, bottled at 47.7% alcohol by volume [95.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of bitter orange marmalade, fruitcake and vanilla butter fudge.

Only 4,251 bottles of White Peak Wire Works Small Batch are being made available in Germany, Italy and the UK for $65 per 700ml bottle.

UK-based Never Say Die has released what they are claiming to be the first English bourbon.

Never Say Die bourbon was distilled and matured four years in Kentucky, then “ocean-aged” on a six-week trip across the Atlantic, before finishing its maturation at the White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, England, where it was bottled at cask strength of between 56% and 61% alcohol by volume [112 proof to 122 proof] and is said to contain notes of caramel and spice.

The bourbon’s name – Never Say Die – is named after a 1954 racehorse of the same name, which was revived with a shot of whiskey after a difficult birth and went on, three years later and at odds of 33-1, to become the first American-born horse in 70-years to win the Epsom Derby. The bottle design reflects the colors of jockey Lester Piggott, who rode Never Say Die to victory in the Derby.

Never Say Die is being made available for $90 per bottle.

New UK-based White Peak Distillery has released their newest single malt whisky entitled Wire Works Whisky Small Batch.

Wire Works Whisky Small Batch is a lightly peated single malt emanating from maturing in ex-bourbon barrels, bottled at 46.2% alcohol by volume [92.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of fruit, nutmeg and vanilla.

Only 4,300 bottles of White Peak Wire Works Whisky Small Batch is being made available via White Peak Distillery’s official website or in-person from the distillery for $75 per 700ml bottle.

White Peak Distillery – a six-year-old distillery located in the Peak District in the Midlands of England – has debuted their inaugural single malt called Wire Works Whisky.

White Peak Distillery Wire Works Whisky was matured in several first-fill oak casks [including ex-bourbon barrels], bottled at 50.3% alcohol by volume [100.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of butterscotch, chocolate, orange peel, peat, raisins, sandalwood and vanilla.

Only 5,016 bottles of White Peak Distillery Wire Works Whisky are being made available for $85 per 700ml bottle beginning in February 2022.
