Sovereign Brands – known for wine and spirits [Bumbu rum] has collaborated with spirits behemoth Pernod Ricard to create their first-ever Scotch whisky, which they are calling The Deacon – a blended Scotch whisky originating from hand-selected drams from various Scottish regions, including Islay and Speyside.

Sovereign’s The Deacon has the aforementioned blend of whiskies from Islay and Speyside, was bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is said to offer notes of orange and peat.

Sovereign’s The Deacon is being made available for $40 per bottle.

Sovereign Brands created a “Mad Max”-style video to promote The Deacon.

Coors Light has officially announced the unofficial beginning of summer with a promotional campaign depicting typical summertime activities which can be enjoyed with the addition of some MolsonCoors products.

The Coors Light promotion – entitled “The Official Beer of Everything Unofficial” – is focusing on the elusive 21- to 34-year-old market segment.

The Coors Light promotion depicts “unofficial” summer activities such as “unofficial air conditioning” (a man cooling off as he reaches into a store’s refrigerated case for his beer) and “unofficial pool party” (a woman relaxing in a kiddie pool).

Additionally, 12-ounce cans of Coors Light also have a QR code on each can that promises “experiences, prizes and more.”

Actress Blake Lively [“Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and “Gossip Girl”] has released the first promotional video for her line of sparkling low-calorie mixers called Betty Buzz, which was originally released in September 2021.

Lively’s Betty Buzz line-up offers five flavors – Tonic Water, Sparking Grapefruit, Meyer Lemon Club Soda, Sparkling Lemon Lime, and Ginger Beer – each can make two drinks when mixed with any spirit.

The name is a reference to Lively’s late father, Ernie, who inspired her to name the line after her grandmother and aunt, who were both known as Betty. Lively’s husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, is the co-owner of Aviation American Gin, which was acquired by Diageo in 2020.

Betty Buzz is currently being made available in the USA and online [bettybuzz.com] with a variety pack of 12 priced $30.

Diageo-owned Johnnie Walker – global purveyor of blended Scotch whisky – is promoting their spirit by imploring consumers to ‘Keep Walking’ as more bars and pubs open up worldwide in emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The video promotion features a mash-up of famous songs including Run DMC and Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”, Loretta Lynn’s “These Boots are Made for Walking” and Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side”.

The video is accompanied by inspirational quotes from Grace Jones, Mark Twain and Ayrton Senna.
