WhistlePig Roadstock Rye Whiskey

WhistlePig is introducing RoadStock Rye: The world’s first-ever finished-on-the-road whiskey. In collaboration with California’s Jordan Winery and Firestone Walker Brewery, the epic journey of RoadStock began earlier this year at their 500-acre farm in Shoreham, VT, where they commissioned an 18-wheeler ‘Rolling Rickhouse’, which would make its way from Vermont to California and back on the 6,000-mile journey.

RoadStock WhistlePig

WhistlePig tells BourbonBlog.com they are introducing RoadStock Rye: The world’s first-ever finished-on-the-road whiskey. Making its debut during July 2021, and at 86 proof, 43% abv, RoadStock Rye Whiskey will sell with an SRP of $72.99 per 750ml bottle at select liquor stores across the country.

In a similar fashion to Jefferson’s Ocean – which we were first to report on in 2021, we wonder the agitation and atmosphere will play a role?

In collaboration with California’s Jordan Winery and Firestone Walker Brewery, the epic journey of RoadStock began earlier this year at their 500-acre farm in Shoreham, VT, where they commissioned an 18-wheeler ‘Rolling Rickhouse’, which would make its way from Vermont to California and back on the 6,000-mile journey.

After weaving along the historic Route 66, the RoadStock Rolling Rick House headed north to Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, CA. where the balance of the whiskey was transferred into Firestone’s Imperial Stout, Imperial Blonde Ale, and Experimental Ale barrels to finish on the long journey back to Vermont.

The other half of the whiskey would remain in their virgin oak original barrels until they made it to California.

Upon completion of the RoadStock Rolling Rickhouse, half of the future RoadStock whiskey was transferred into Bordeaux blend casks from Jordan Winery that would make the full 6000-mile round trip journey providing ample time for the whiskey to steal the nuanced complexity from these incredible casks. This particular Bordeaux blend had held a wine that was 78% Cabernet, 12% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec casks.

Thus, they blended and bottled WhistlePig Roadstock Rye and even created a rubber tire topper to commemorate the journey. So we bottled the liquid as WhistlePig Roadstock Rye and even stuck a rubber tire topper on it to commemorate the journey.

This 86-proof, hand-crafted stunner sings with a symphony of raspberry jam, brown sugar, and toasted cedar. Buckle up, because it’s about to take your tastebuds on an unforgettable ride.

BourbonBlog.com will you a review soon. To be first to learn about whiskey releases like this, subscribe to our Bourbon newsletter.

Giving consumers across the country a chance to experience the unique offering firsthand, WhistlePig’s RoadStock Dodge Hellcat will continue its journey making stops in key markets throughout the rest of the summer and into the Fall.

Consumers will be able to experience the brand at exclusive sampling events, further information will be provided via WhistlePig social media channels and website.

Cohiba tells BourbonBlog.com that they will launch Weller by Cohiba, the first Cohiba cigar to be created expressly for pairing with afine spirit.

BourbonBlog.com had already received a bit of a teaser on this product – though not the full details – as Sean Williams described he had been working on a project at Buffalo Trace in our video interview with him below as Sean and Bourbon expert Tom Fischer reviewed the Serie M Cigar.

Developed in partnership with Weller Bourbon, the limited edition Cohiba cigar was blended to complement Weller Bourbon, a rare and highly-coveted wheated bourbon prized by connoisseurs for its sophisticated, moderately sweet taste and intensely smooth finish.

Pricing and Release

The blend will be launched in one size, a 5.5” x 50 Robusto featuring Cohiba and Weller Bourbon branding elements, and presented in an elegant glass tube.

Weller by Cohiba will sell for a suggested retail price of $19.99 per cigar or $199.90 for a box containing ten cigars. The exquisite release will be available through fine cigar shops across the U.S. and begins shipping to select retailers today, on July 1.

Weller by Cohiba is a limited edition release. Cohiba will not disclose the number of cigars being produced by the artisans at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, DR.

Future collaborations between Cohiba and Weller Bourbon are currently being explored.

Weller by Cohiba is being released on the heels of Cohiba Serie M, a blend that debuted to rave reviews in April. The result of a collaboration between Cohiba and the family-owned El Titán de Bronze Cigar Factory, Cohiba Serie M is handcrafted in Miami’s Little Havana district.

What Sean Williams Says Bout the CIgar

Cohiba Brand Ambassador Sean Williams tells BourbonBlog.com, “We blended Weller by Cohiba to be the ultimate cigar for spirits connoisseurs. The experience is rich and layered, imparting notes of cocoa, espresso and leather on the palate before cascading to a luxurious finish. While the depth and complexity of this cigar make it the ideal choice for pairing with your
favorite spirit, Weller by Cohiba is equally as extraordinary when savored on its own.”

About The Cigar

Dressed in a hearty, full-bodied Honduran San Agustin Ligero wrapper and bound with Connecticut Havano Medio Tiempo, the blend is made with hand-selected tobaccos from Esteli and the remote volcanic island of Ometepe in Nicaragua.

Hard Truth master distiller Bryan Smith will also be onsite from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to autograph bottles.

“Distillers in Indiana have historically produced some of the highest quality rye whiskeys in the world,” Smith tells BourbonBlog.com. “

Rye is a notoriously difficult grain to handle through the mash, ferment, and distillation process. Craftsmen and women here in Indiana have long shared secrets and tips and tricks, resulting in a quality standard that sets Indiana apart in the world of rye whiskey making. Hard Truth Distilling Co., is proud to be a part of the Indiana Rye Whiskey community making history with this law.”
