Jodie Filiatreau Chats with Bourbon Obsessed
In 1981 a young Jodie Filiatreau strode into the offices of the Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, KY. Acting on the advice of his father, the 20 year old headed straight for the office of Max Shapira, then Vice-President of Heaven Hill. Max was not in charge of hiring and Jodie had no appointment, nonetheless, he introduced himself and inquired about work at the distillery. Max listened to his appeal and sent him off to Human Resources, the rest, as they say, is history.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is one of my favorite bourbons. I look forward to each of the thrice yearly releases with great anticipation. Fortunately, I no longer have to explain to my wife why I need another Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon; she now also appreciates how different (yet also similar) each batch is. So, when I heard that Heaven Hill Distillery was adding ECBP to their single barrel program, I was needless to say, very excited.
