Irish whiskey maker Waterford has released has a new single malt whiskey to their range called Cuvée: Argot – the first from the distillery to be made available globally.

Waterford Cuvée: Argot was matured in a quartet of casks: 37% first-fill US oak, 23% Vin Doux Naturel, 19% virgin American oak and 19% premium French oak.

Waterford Cuvée: Argot uses Irish barley by farm, with Waterford tracking how the barley was harvested, stored, malted, and distilled and is said to offer notes of almonds, bell peppers, fennel, grapefruit and white chocolate.

Waterford Cuvée: Argot is being made available at waterfordwhisky.com for $60 per bottle.

Luxembourg-based Amber Beverage Group-owned Walsh Whiskey has released the 2023 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask Strength Irish whiskey.

The Irishman Vintage Cask Strength is a triple-distilled blend of premium, aged single malt and single pot still Irish whiskies, matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at cask strength [55.3% alcohol by volume – 110.6 proof] and is said to offer notes of almond, apple, fig, honey and vanilla.

Only 8,400 bottles of The Irishman Vintage Cask Strength are being made available – with 1,200 bottles allocated to the USA and the remaining 7,200 worldwide [including Asia, Canada, Ireland, France, South Africa and the UK] – for $155 per bottle.

Bushmills Unveils 33-Year-Old Irish Whiskey

Bushmills 33 Years Old was filled into fortified port wine casks from northern Portugal, bottled at cask strength of 53.3% alcohol by volume [106.6 proof] and is said to offer notes of blackberries and blackcurrants.

Only 690 bottles of Bushmills 33 Years Old Port Cask are being made available at Heathrow Airport in the UK for $1,500 per bottle.

Actor Liev Schreiber’s Sláinte Irish Whiskey will be available in seven more states in the USA after expanding their distribution network.

Sláinte Irish Whiskey was created last year in a collaboration with Schreiber and was previously sold exclusively online, but will now be made available in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Texas.

Additionally, Schreiber’s Sláinte Irish Whiskey says they will donate one dollar from every sale of Slainte Smooth Blend to Blue Check Ukraine, an organisation also co-founded by Schreiber, which is a collective of humanitarian crisis response experts, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers, with decades of experience addressing the needs of conflict-affected populations and documenting solidarity movements countering oppression.

Sláinte 18-year-old limited edition blend will be available for $500 per bottle.

After successful experimentation was completed at Midleton Distillery in Cork, Ireland, Powers Distillery has released their first 100% Irish rye whiskey – Powers Irish Rye.

Powers Irish Rye was matured in a combination of virgin, first-fill and re-fill American oak casks, bottled at 43.2% alcohol by volume [86.4 proof] and is said to offer notes of banana, clove, ginger, maraschino cherry, orange, peppermint and toffee.

Powers Irish Rye is being made available for $32 per bottle, beginning on Presidents’ Day [February 20, 2023] in Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK and the USA [as well as on the official Powers website – powerswhiskey.com].

Fercullen is produced at the Powerscourt Distillery and will be bringing Fercullen Fall, Fercullen Single Malt, 15-year-old Fercullen whiskey and limited edition Fercullen 21 Year Old to availability in the USA.

Powerscourt Distillery’s core product is Fercullen Falls – named after Ireland’s largest waterfall [which just so happens to be located on distillery property] – is a 50/50 blend of malt and grain whiskies, the malt was matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, with the grain matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and new heavy char oak casks and was bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof].

Waterford Distillery’s Heritage: Hunter was matured in a combination of first-fill and virgin American oak, French oak, and Vin Doux Naturel casks and is said to offer notes of apple, cloves, lemon and orange.

Only 10,000 bottles of Waterford Distillery Heritage: Hunter are being made available for $115 per bottle.
