After sampling a handful of these different 8- and 10-year-old barrels, Pops and I decided that instead of a “Bottle” rating, we should buy a barrel.
The nose is surprisingly sweet with notes of sweet corn and cherry pie filling dominating the glass. Think of a Hostess Cherry Pie. I was blown away by how sweet this was. This is not your typical craft bourbon.
What makes this bourbon stand out is its unique double-oaking process. After aging in new American oak barrels, the bourbon is transferred to another barrel for a second round of aging, resulting in an intensified flavor profile.
The design is intended to create a community hub that people can enjoy through outdoor experiences and is meant to enhance both the live and play experience with shared programming initiatives between the distillery and broader community.
