Islay distillery Bowmore has released a limited edition 1969 single malt – the fourth and final whisky in their Vaults Series.
Bowmore 1969 was matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads and is said to contain notes of almond, apple, citrus, coconut, honey, lemon and vanilla.
Now the bad news….only 339 bottles of Bowmore 1969 are being made available at select travel retail venues – London Heathrow Airport, Amsterdam Schipol Airport, Frankfurt Airport, Istanbul Airport – for a whopping $42,000 per bottle.
