Irish Distillers is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a Midleton Very Rare release containing whiskies from four decades and three master distillers.
Midleton Very Rare Ruby Edition blends whiskies from four decades and distilled by each of the Midleton’s three master distillers, Barry Crockett, Brian Nation, and Kevin O’Gorman – as each contributes to a blend of single pot still and single grain whiskey as well as a whiskey finished in a ruby Port cask for nine months.
Midleton Very Rare 40th Anniversary Ruby Edition is bottled at 53.1% alcohol by volume [106.2 proof] and is said to offer notes of blackcurrant, cloves, dark chocolate, nutmeg, plum and raspberry.
Midleton Very Rare 40th Anniversary Ruby Edition is being made available in the USA, UK, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, France and the Netherlands for a whopping $21,600 per bottle.
