Lochlea Distillery has released Fallow Edition – an Oloroso sherry cask-matured whisky.
Lochlea Fallow Edition was matured solely in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of banana bread, malt biscuits and dark, dried fruits.
Only 9,000 bottles of Lochlea Fallow Edition are being made available worldwide for $60 per bottle.

Gold Spot has released a limited edition single pot still whiskey matured in port wine casks.
Gold Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey was matured for a minimum of nine years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks along with Bordeaux wine casks and port pipes – sourced from Portugal’s Douro Valley – and which is a first for the Gold Spot, bottled at 51.4% alcohol by volume [102.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of fruit, oak and spice.
Gold Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is being made available for $125 per bottle in Ireland, France, the UK and the USA [in July 2022].

Cotswolds Distillery’s Rum Cask Single Malt Whisky has been aged in rejuvenated French oak ex-red wine casks seasoned with Caribbean rum, bottled at 55.6% alcohol by volume [111.2 proof] and is said to contain notes of apple, brown sugar, orange peel, pears and vanilla.
