Scotland-based distillery InchDairnie has released RyeLaw – purported to be the only Scottish malted rye whisky currently available on the market.

InchDairnie RyeLaw was double distilled in pot stills in 2017, matured in charred new oak casks, made with locally grown 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley and was bottled at 46.3% alcohol by volume [92.6 proof].

Only 200 casks of InchDairnie RyeLaw are being made available worldwide with a single bottle of InchDairnie RyeLaw being made available for $135 per bottle.

Speyside-based distillery Benromach has released Cara Gold – a new limited edition single malt as part of their Contrasts range.

Benromach Cara Gold uses Cara Gold malted barley, a roasted caramel malt more commonly used in breweries and combined that with the distillery’s lightly peated malt, which was matured infirst-fill bourbon barrels, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of apricot, lime, lychee, passionfruit and pineapple.

Only 6000 bottles of Benromach Cara Gold are being made available – with 1,500 of those slotted exclusively for the UK – for $65 per 700ml bottle.
