{BARDSTOWN, KY} As the latest iteration of its acclaimed Collaborative series, The Bardstown Bourbon Company’s newest release brings together bourbon and Jamaican rum in partnership with Plantation Rum. This release features a 10-year-old Tennessee Bourbon finished for 22 months in Plantation Rum barrels.
Per the brand, the resulting dram is sweet and spicy on the nose with orange peel, allspice and cinnamon that highlights banana bread with rich caramel. On the palate, apple crisp and molasses lead to a balanced finish of fruit and spice, rounding out this luxurious summer sipper that combines the best charastics of bourbon and rum.
Plantation Rum, from the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, also pulls from distilleries in Jamaica, Trinidad, Peru, and Fiji where the rum is distilled and aged. The rum is then blended and finished by Maison Ferrand, a premiere Cognac maker in France. Their releases highlight the way terroir informs rum’s flavor and complexity. In this case, bourbon was finished in casks from the Xayamaca (Jamaican) expression to complement and showcase the best in both spirits.
The finished whiskey is presented at 104 proof (52 percent ABV) and offered at a suggested retail price of $159.99. It’s available in limited quantities at the Bardstown Bourbon Co. gift shop and limited retailers. For details on how to find it, visit the product locator at bardstownbourbon.com.

Dwight Yoakam is a legendary country music artist, one of the most well respected performers in all of entertainment.
Come July 1st, you have the chance to see him perform at the brand new venue, The Ampat Dant Crossing. An intimate, first class amphitheater smack dab in the middle of God’s country. We mean that literally in a sense as it’s just down the road from the Trappist monk monastery community Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani.
The amphitheater sits on the gorgeous 300+ acre campus of the dream turned reality Log Still Distillery in New Haven, KY, just outside Bardstown and founded by family members J.W. “Wally” Dant III, Lynne Dant, and Charles Dant (all cousins of the Bourbon Royalty “Dant” tree).
Bring your appetite with you as the show is all part of the Summer Supper Series, hosted by Log Still’s highly decorated Executive Chef David Danielson, formerly of Churchill Downs (Home of The Kentucky Derby). Put it this way, he knows how to feed a crowd.
It’s buffet style eating at The Legacy entertainment venue, a brand new colossal event center within an easy walk of the show.
If you book now, you won’t even have to worry about driving home as their are a number of lovely B&B rooms on the property. Want to see a performing legend in a beautiful outdoor venue on a stunning new distillery campus? This is your ticket!

‘WHISKEY FILES’ with Special Guest: Rabbit Hole’s Kaveh Zamanian
Courtesy Image: Whiskey Files Event Page
HF has created a monthly event focusing on American Whiskey and the people behind it. Their upcoming guest is the founder, creator, and CEO of the rather eclectic and swiftly growing (like rabbits if you will) Rabbit Hole Distillery, who’s homebase is in downtown Louisville. And a beautiful urban distillery at that. The drive from Rabbit Hole Distillery (711 E Jefferson St, Louisville) to Hermitage is only 27 minutes, just saying;)
Here is the event rundown directly from WHISKEY FILES page
Leading one of the most rapidly growing distilleries in the whiskey industry, Zamanian’s story is one of bold risks and rewarding payoff for his singular, inspiring endeavors. Despite entering the highly competitive field of American whiskey as recently as 2012, with his dedication to developing his own recipes and designing his own distillery, Zamanian has built a brand that stands out from the rest thanks to his proprietary techniques and courage to challenge the status quo.
Register now and join us on May 11th to hear Zamanian recount his whiskey adventures and sample some of his hand-picked Rabbit Hole selects!
A dinner reservation is not included with this ticket. If you would like to dine at Barn8 Restaurant, we strongly advise making a reservation at 5:00PM-5:30PM or at 8:30PM or later.

Hermitage Farms (just outside of Louisville) is a country bougie spot you definitely want to check out. A world class restaurant, cocktail program, Bourbon destination…all nestled on the beautiful equine enchanting grounds of Hermitage Farm.
It gets better…they now have a monthly whiskey series!
“The Whiskey Files” will be hosted in their recently renovated Barn6 space.
Since opening in 2020, Hermitage Farm has offered tours and tastings that celebrate bourbon’s agricultural heritage from grain to glass. Barn8 Farm Restaurant & Bourbon Bar offers a wide selection of the spirits, including a number of exclusive private barrel selections and bottles available for purchase in the Bourbon Library.
The Whiskey Files series expands on the farm’s tour offerings, inviting founders and distillers to share their stories and spirits with bourbon lovers.
Each month, a distillery is highlighted for The Whiskey Files in Barn6’s intimate setting — a space shared with two retired racehorses who call the barn home.
Guests can expect a lively discussion alongside a selected samples, and seating is extremely limited. The next event is 7 p.m. March 9 with Steve and Donna Nally of Bardstown Bourbon Company.

The 125th anniversary of 1897’s “Bottled-in-Bond” Act is coming in hot. Thankfully, the good folks in Northern Kentucky’s Covington area have us covered with a tongue smacking delicious celebration. And for good reason.
The “BiB” Act was the first major legislation providing specific standards of quality for American Whiskey. It guaranteed you knew who made your whiskey, where it was aged, a minimum age of at least 4 years, and a 100 proof (50% abv). Hard to imagine now but back in those days, it was truly The Wild Wild West and a lot could happen to your whiskey from producer to barkeeper. Keep in mind, whiskey was a common remedy for infants and children.
The Kentucky Connection
Northern Kentucky’s Covington area was the native stomping grounds to the most important politician backing BiB – US Secretary of Treasure John G. Carlisle (resume also boasts US Senator, POTUS candidacy, and a bunch of other gov stuff). As a proud Kentuckian, he was certainly immersed in the Bourbon world as he, along with close friend E.H. Taylor, fought to push BiB through.
Hey…Where The Party At?!
Now, getting back to el festival! On March 3rd, come to Covington’s Smoke Justis (TBR’s “Best Bourbon Bars in America” 2021 Recipient) for a one-of-a-kind grand celebration, honoring John G. Carlisle and the special 125th anniversary of the BiB Act.
This inaugural event will escort guests through a four-course food experience along with four blind pours and a guided tasting of some of the best Bottled in Bond varietals in the country. All attendees are invited to determine this year’s crowning of the best BIB and award the John G. Carlisle Award. No elevated judges determining the winner. Just whiskey for the fans!
The event is produced and sponsored by MeetNKY and Northern KY Chamber of Commerce.
To plan your trip to NKY, here’s a guide for your very own “B-Line” experience!
