Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey (Louisville, KY) is adding excitement to its award-winning portfolio of whiskeys with the launch of its first bottled-in-bond bourbon – which has already been given 95 points from Wine Enthusiast magazine, with a full review to appear in the October issue, which goes on sale Aug. 27.
The mash bill consisting of 51% corn, 45% wheat and 4% malted barley. It’s complemented by the flavors created during Buzzard’s Roost’s unique secondary maturation process, using Char #1 barrels with proprietary toast levels designed to coax out the most delicious flavors from oak.
Crafted in strict adherence to the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, Buzzard’s Roost Bottled in Bond Bourbon was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana in the Fall of 2018 and aged for five years in a federally bonded warehouse.
From there, it underwent secondary maturation in Buzzard’s Roost barrels at Bardstown Bourbon Company and was bottled in early 2024 at exactly 100 proof.
“We knew this one was special the minute we tasted it,” said Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder and CEO Judy Hollis Jones. “Flavor is our differentiator, and the high scores that this whiskey has already earned from the most respected whiskey experts in the world is a testament to its excellence. It instantly became one of my personal favorites.”
“We are all about respecting tradition while adding our own twist – and the secondary aging on this bourbon transformed it into something truly special,” said Jason Brauner, Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder and Master Blender.
Priced at $71.99 (SRP), Buzzard’s Roost Bottled in Bond Bourbon is available online, at the Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey Row Experience in Louisville, online and at retailers in 22 markets.
