There are an estimated 900 gazillion bourbons available these days. Okay, maybe it’s only about a thousand but still, with even that many to choose from, asking which ones work best in cocktails is a very valid question. Sadly, I haven’t tasted every single bourbon –yet (although, believe me, I am giving it my best), but many great cocktails have been made from a few in particular that I can confidently recommend. Bloody Butcher Corn is the base grain for all of Jeptha Creed’s bourbons. It usually occupies the majority of the mash bill. So it is a bit of a change of pace to have it share equal billing with 2 other heirloom corns. However, that’s exactly what happens in the latest release from Jeptha Creed, their Red White & Blue Bourbon. This bourbon is a unique mix of 3 heirloom corns, each in the same amount. Jeptha Creed Bottled In Bond Rye Bourbon Review

Jeptha Creed Distillery celebrated their 5th anniversary by releasing this Rye Bourbon Mash Bill Bottled In Bond Bourbon on November 11, 2021. Similar to their Four Grain Bourbon, the base grain is their family farm grown Bloody Butcher Corn. Hidden Barn Bourbon “Hometown Barrel” Review

The Hidden Barn Whiskey brand itself is a collaboration between Nate Winegar & Matt Dankner, co-founders of the 5280 Whiskey Society, Master Distiller Royce Neeley of Neeley Family Distillery and Master Blender Jackie Zykan, formerly the Master Taster at Old Forester. The bourbons in their first series are from Neeley Family Distillery. Some single barrels were available, such as the Hometown Barrel that is the subject of this review.
