Despite the initial hit on the nose this is a pretty solid spiced rum and though I didn’t try it I can imagine this mixes well also. Plenty of festive spices to be found. 80/100

The Glenturret has released two limited edition single malts aged 25 and 30 years old as part of their 2022 core collection, which also includes Triple Wood, 7 Years Old Peat Smoked, 10 Years Old Peat Smoked, 12 Years Old and 15 Years Old.
The Glenturret 25 Years Old was matured in a trio of casks – a pair of European oak butts and one refill hogshead – and is bottled at 42.2% alcohol by volume (84.4 proof).
Only a mere 210 bottles of The Glenturret 25 Years Old are being made available.
The Glenturret 30 Years Old was also matured in a trio of casks – a Niepoort Portuguese oak cask, European oak sherry and Moscatel cask – and was bottled at 42% alcohol by volume [84 proof].
Only 750 bottles of The Glenturret 30 years Old are being made available.
On its own this is a fairly basic single malt. Perfect for mixing but also drinkable in its own right. Their are traces of youthful spirit and a touch of sulphur but also a lovely minerality proving a distinct character that does carry though into long…
