Double Double Oaked is made by finishing fully mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel. The extra year in the barrel creates a bourbon that is distinctly spicier than its original counterpart.

Aged over four years in new, charred oak and first-fill bourbon casks, the liquid then undergoes the maple charcoal filtration process first developed in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to refine and enhance the spirit after it leaves the barrel.
Lawrenceburg, Indiana-based Ross & Squibb Distillery, in partnership with NFL legend Chris Long and his Foundation’s Waterboys initiative, announced the completion of their combined efforts to bring a lasting source of clean, safe water to a community of 1,600 people in arid southern Kenya.
Inspired by the traditional kräuterlikörs of Germany, this experimental bourbon liqueur combines a German-malt-laden mashbill with an infusion of über-traditional botanicals, including star anise, ginseng, bilberry, and sarsaparilla.
Located 30 minutes south of Lexington, the 210-acre site includes the 50,000+ sq ft distillery, as well as two 20,000 sq ft rickhouses, with plans for a total of 24 aging warehouses by 2030, each holding nearly 25,000 barrels.
A quick whiff of the nose, and there’s no denying this is a rye whiskey reporting for duty. It has all the classic hallmarks of a high rye mash bill rye whiskey from MGP–candied fruit, bright rye spice, caramel and juicy fruit.
Central Indiana-based whiskey distillery West Fork Whiskey Co. announced that they entered a partnership with Indianapolis-based Ouabache Investments. The additional capital will allow the distillery to expand production and accelerate growth dramatically.
Pour this one for those who care about their bourbon but not their budget. The nose, taste and finish are classic MGP, which longtime bourbon drinkers will enjoy immensely.
There’s nothing wrong with drinking low-proof bourbon. It’s just not my thing. But if I were to consume bourbon at the minimum bottle entry proof allowed, Brother’s Bond flavor profile would be more than acceptable– even if the price is not.
