What’s you favorite Irish whiskey
Today we have a bottle of Fighting 69th, Irish whiskey.
The Regiment has seen combat in five wars. Founded in 1849 as an all Irish citizen militia to train young Irish men in military tactics in New York.
It was hoped that these young men would return to Ireland and expel the British from their homelands.
This whiskey is a celebration of the regiments heritage and $1 from every bottle sold goes to preserve its history. We hope you enjoy Jim and Mike’s review. Be sure to catch the podcast episode on your favorite platform, for more information. Cheers!
Tasting Notes: Fighting 69th Irish whiskey
Vital Stats: The mash bill is 100% malted barley like all Irish whiskeys. It’s 80 proof with a $30 MSRP.
Appearance: Standard whiskey bottle with golden honey whiskey inside.
Nose: Fresh pears, peaches and banana taffy. Light floral tingling the nose.
Palate: Light and refreshing that’s easy to drink. Sweet with some banana taffy and crisp grape. A tab bit of grape skin bitterness.
Finish: Short to medium finish with a light Kentucky hug.
Overall: For us it’s a buy because everyone needs a Irish whiskey on their shelf plus it’s military history. Cheers
